Ages 2-4 40 pages Chronicle March 2014 Hardcover

Two Hands to Love You is a sweet book that is more than a board book but not quite at the level of telling a full story. The simply rhyming text moves through all of the ways someone’s two hands can welcome and nurture a young child.

Whether a mother’s hands are counting the baby’s toes, a father is using his hands to lift the baby to the sky as if he were a plane or a sibling is grabbing the hands of a little one to show him how to catch tadpoles, the point is that there are always helping hands around to show a child how to navigate the world.

The book is very simple, and the rhyming text and pastel-colored illustrations add to the appeal. The result is a soothing and reassuring story with definite potential to gently nudge a small child to sleep.
