Vincent and the Night
by Adele Enersen
Ages 3-5 40 pages Dial April 2015 Hardcover

Adele Enersen developed a fun photography project with the help of her infant daughter. The napping baby was captured in fantastical, fun scenes as Enersen photographed from overhead.

Enersen used the same concept with her infant son and some inky line drawings to create Vincent and the Night. Cherubic Vincent isn’t ready for bedtime and uses blanked to set off on quite the adventure.

It’s a sweet book, but not as visually appealing as Enersen’s photos that really come alive with color and dimension. Apart from Vincent, the illustrations never jump from the page with the same impact.

Cute and likely a pleasant addition to a collection of bedtime books for the four and under crowd.
