Ages 4-8 40 pages Chronicle Books April 2008 Hardcover

There are no words in this book, yet it is one of the sweetest stories I have “read” in quite some time.

For the youngest kids, the story will be about a little girl at the beach. Those who are a bit older might see it as a game between a girl and a wave, each trying to outwit the other. Those who are even more advanced will view it as a touching story about the development of a friendship between a little girl and nature, and how they play so magically with one another.

Wave is a wonderful way to spark the imaginations of young readers. The particular appeal of this book is that it tells a beautiful story, regardless of exactly what story that turns out to be.
