Here's a fun participation book that will give your toddler a good challenge and build confidence. Each two-page spread poses a visual task for the reader. On page one, the child is asked to pick out an animal with a shell from all the other critters pictured.
At first the youngster will need a little help, but eventually he or she will be able to find the "I spy" critter without assistance. At that point, broaden the game and begin to identify other animals. Ask, "Do you see a bunny or a frog on this page?"
As your child pages through this colorful board book, he or she will be able to identify a number of animals, birds and insects. You might then graduate to colors, stripes or spots!
