by The Sesame Workshop, illustrated by Ernie Kwiat
Ages 4+ 48 pages Candlewick February 2012 Hardcover

This Brand New Readers book invites three or four-year-olds to join Bert and Ernie on a camping trip. Three separate stories chronicle some of the pair’s adventures.

In one, Ernie follows mysterious tracks he finds in the soft earth. Look carefully at the illustrations, and you can figure out what type of critter made each set of tracks.

The next two stories center on the two friends hiking in the rain. The ground gets all muddy and slippery, and Ernie discovers which items will float on a pond and which won’t. The final short story finds poor Ernie unable to sleep because of some strange noises that he hears.

Ideal for beginning readers, this little book has instructions for parents on the inside cover that will make it easier for their child to master the text. In no time at all, your youngster will be reading these stories to you!
