Children's board book reviews for babies and toddlers

*Cutie Pie!* by Matthew Kempler
Cutie Pie!
by Matthew Kempler
Baby-preschool 14 pages Golden Books August 2007 Board book

Cutie Pie! poses several questions, each of which asks whether a young child is a different pie. Are you apple pie? Peach pie? Blueberry pie? Pumpkin pie? Moon pie? Each question is answered in the negative, with the answer sweetly printed behind the liftable flap in the shape of the corresponding pie flavor.

Children will love to lift the apple, peach, blueberry, pumpkin and moon to find the response that they know is forthcoming. The end result is, not surprisingly, that young children are cutie pies, a result that is hidden behind a flap that houses a mirror so children can see their own reflections.

Cutie Pie! is a charming interactive book that children will find just as delicious as the pies it depicts.
