With its soft cover and twinkling foil stars and
lettering, I’ll See You in the Morning is
appealing from the start. The sturdy, star-framed, pages
within depict a rosy-cheeked mother and son, friendly
creatures of the night, and a smiling moon in various
phases. One particularly calming image is that of the
sleeping little boy, cradled by a crescent moon.
The endearing illustrations are complemented well by the
text, which reassuringly describes the night as “just a
blanket, that helps the earth to sleep,” and promises “the
twinkling stars will keep you safe till morning comes
again.”
While I’ll See You in the Morning is clearly
designed for children who are afaid of the dark, or having
bedtime separation issues, this sweet and adorable book is a
wonderful choice for all young children.
