ages 5-10 128 pages Random House May 2006 Hardcover

Junie B. Jones has the most exciting news for show and tell. She’s going to Hawaii for vacation! Mr. Scary, her first grade teacher, appoints Junie B. the class’s official photo journalist. She is to document her trip with pictures.

From beginning to end, the vacation has its ups and downs. The airport is one long, boring line-up after another. She does get the window seat on the airplane, but she’s stuck with two grouchy ladies for neighbors. The grouchy lady behind her interrupts Junie B. and her spy mission, and the grouchy lady in front of her doesn’t like it when Junie B. plays with the table tray. Junie B. finds the flight so long - not even her new friend can keep her occupied.

Junie B. - is very impressed by the hotel where her family is staying. However, she does have an incident in the pool with Squeezer. And when snorkeling, Junie B. gets scared right out of the water! She’s not even looking forward to the rain forest hike. The driver on the tour bus annoys her to no end, and she finds it slow-moving once they are in the rain forest - that is, until she starts flower-arranging in her hair. This causes something very crazy to happen, and luckily the bus driver is there to rescue her.

This is the 26th book in the best-selling series. Barbara Park has won over forty children’s book awards. Fans will enjoy being entertained by Junie B. Jones once again as she experiences Hawaii. Denise Brunkus has illustrated over fifty children’s books; her black and white illustrations in Aloha-ha-ha! help fans know Junie B. Jones a little better - and we get to see her photo journal at the end.

Junie B. Jones stands a little taller and feels a little prouder when she completes her photo journal for the class.
