*Little Owl Lost* by Chris Haughton
Little Owl Lost
by Chris Haughton
Ages 2-5 30 pages Candlewick August 2013 Board book

Oh dear! Little Owl has taken a tumble and fallen from his nest.

“Are you OK?” asks Squirrel.

“I’m lost,” says Little Owl. “Where’s my mommy?”

Ever the helpful friend, Squirrel asks Little Owl what his mommy looks like. Unfortunately, Little Owl’s partial descriptions aren’t very helpful. When Little Owl says his mommy is very broad and big, Squirrel takes the owl to a bear.

Then Little Owl says his mommy has pointed ears. Off the duo go to find a rabbit. Wrong again! Next, the owl says his mommy has big eyes. Now Squirrel’s understands, so they head for the frog pond. Oops, that’s not right, either!

Will they ever reunite Little Owl with his mother? Of course, but you’ll have to read this charming board book for children two years of age and older to see how it happens.
