Ages 2+ 18 pages Simon and Schuster August 2011 Board book

This interactive board book is filled with pull tabs and flaps, plus pettable textures that will engage children two years old and up. The two-page spreads in Moo feature a number of farm animals, including sheep, chickens, pigs, horses, cows, ducks, and goats.

Color photos picture the animal infants (foal, calf, duckling, etc.) as well as their parents. The child can identify each type of animal and feel its coat or fur.

Flip back a flap and you’ll discover a shorn sheep, some goats standing on bales of hay or some little critters having a piggyback ride.

You’ll need to pull or push a tab to milk a cow or see a hen peck at her food. If you push a rubber ducky’s tummy, it will squeak for you.

Introducing your toddler to a variety of barnyard critters will be a lot of fun as the child experiences the delight of making them move or feels the textures of their coats. Don’t forget to take this opportunity to identify the animals and recreate their sounds.
