The Grammy Award-winning musical group They Might Be Giants has found a masterful way to combine their love of music (not to mention their talent) with the joys of reading while also encouraging little ones to engage in some physical activity. Not only that, but this brilliant combination is a wonderful way to introduce their work to an entire new generation of children who will likely become fans.
Kids Go! revolves around two sleepy children who hear a noise, try to determine its origin and end up moving like a monkey, a jumping bean and a jack-in-the-box. The sharp illustrations showcase the movements and are accompanied by simple text that tells the story.
As if that isn’t enough of a treat, the book comes with an animated DVD that is a music video starring the characters in the book and tracking the story, set to a musical rendition of Kids Go! performed by the award-winning group.
Kids Go! is a true treasure on a number of different fronts. Parents and kids alike should go-go-go to the nearest bookstore to pick up a copy of their own.
