Inspired by an old Lucio Dalla song, “Cosa Sarà?,” Questions, Questions consists of thirteen couplets which ask open-ended questions to spark the imagination of both adults and children.
Questions such as “who paints the colors on the flowers that lift their heads to sun and showers?” and “What makes fire burn read and gold and makes it much too hot to hold?” and “does a whale make up a song so other whales will sing along?” encourage asking and thinking about nature and life.
The beautifully vivid illustrations, which are laid out on double pages, are enchanting and inspiring. At the back of the book, the author - who is also the illustrator - explains his technique and encourages his readers to experiment with it themselves.
Questions, Questions is a wonderful book for anyone who wants to ponder and encourage discussion and imagination about the mysteries of nature. Highly recommended for children of all ages, especially ages 2-8, parents and teachers.
