Jeremy Bean is a typical kid with typical problems. It’s how he solves them that make him worth a second look. Look Out, Jeremy Bean! is a collection of three stories about - you guessed it - Jeremy Bean. The last one, Look Out, Jeremy Bean! was originally published by Chronicle way back in 1987. But have no fear - Jeremy’s antics haven’t gone out of style.
You’ll find two other erstwhile adventures Jeremy Bean’s Collection and Jeremy Bean and the Dust Bunny between these covers. Come along as Jeremy tries to put together a collection of his own to share at show-and-tell only to find all his ideas are taken. Finally, this ingenious boy comes up with the best collection of them all. Ever wonder how one captures a dust bunny? Jeremy has the answer. Then, on a day when everyone is supposed to wear green, our little hero finds help from an unlikely ally.
Alice Schertle has authored more than two dozen picture books, many of which are told in rhyme. Although not themselves in verse, the Jeremy Bean stories have a classic feel without a didactic lesson attached. Illustrator David Slonim’s charming pen and ink drawings breathe life into an already loveable character, adding his own brand of amusement.
For those ready to read on their own, or even those who still want to be read to, look out - here comes Jeremy Bean!
