Where's Boo? (A Hide-and-Seek Book)
by Salina Yoon
Ages Birth-3 18 pages Random House August 2013 Board book

A young black cat is hiding in Yoon’s (Find My Feet!, One, Two, Buckle My Shoe) latest board book. It looks like the cute cat is hiding behind the jack o’ lantern, the ghost cookie jar, and the green broom--but with the turn of each page, the black “tail” reveals itself to be a candlestick, a spider, or a witch’s hat.

Boo’s whereabouts are concealed until children peek behind the wooden door on the last double-page spread. Here they will see that Boo has been out trick-or-treating with his friends all along.

The Hide-and-Seek format of this book allows children to make predictions about the story, and the die-cuts on the side of the book let children see and touch Boo’s fuzzy black tail.

When reading this book to toddlers, show them Boo’s fuzzy face on the cover and ask them to look for the purple bat that appears on every page.
