Ages 3-5 24 pages Simon Spotlight August 2013 Paperback

Brownie and her pet cat, Pearl, are bundled up and off to see the sights downtown on this cold, snowy day. Brownie is carrying her handbag and Pearl has her cute blue mouse toy.

There are many things to see and places to visit. First the pair stops at the hat shop before moving on to try on some shoes at the next store. They work up quite an appetite, so the cupcake shop is their next destination.

Mmmm, those cupcakes were good—but now Brownie and Pearl are a little sleepy. Enough sightseeing: it is time for a nap, so the two friends head back home.

This Pre-Level One Ready-to-Read book is perfect for shared reading. Its familiar characters and simple vocabulary enables the beginning reader to share the narrative chores almost immediately. It won’t take long before your youngster will want to move on to a Level One reader.
